Colon Tea is an original formulation by Barbara O'Neill to assist in keeping the bowels regular by combining herbs that gently restore and revive colon function.
Ingredient insight:
Cascara Sagrada - (Frangula purshiana) Naturally occurring anthraquinones, that trigger contractions in the colon, stimulate peristalsis.
Liquorice root - (Glycyrrhiza glabra) contains the beneficial compound glycyrrhizin, which has antioxidant, antimicrobial, and anti-inflammatory properties.
Buckthorn - (Rhamnus catharicus) a traditional purgative, works by stimulating rather than irritating to encourage bowel movements. The naturally occurring chemical compounds responsible for this laxative effect are anthraquinone and emodin.
Directions for use:
Take 1 tsp of herbs, to 1.5 cups of water, bring to a slow boil and turn down heat. Gently simmer for 5 min, let cool, strain, and drink before retiring to bed.
If needed, slowly increase dosage from 1/2 a cup to up to three cups for severe constipation. Available in two packaging options:
